Carpentry has never just been a job to me—it’s something I genuinely enjoy every single day. I take a lot of pride in my work and am always looking for ways to improve my skills and take on new challenges. One of the things that sets me apart from many other carpenters is my ability to work with a wide range of materials, not just timber. Whether it’s hardwood, composite products, steel, or a combination of materials, I enjoy finding practical and creative solutions. I can weld on-site when required, which allows me to tackle projects that many traditional carpenters would need to outsource or redesign. Refined Carpentry Projects was established in late February 2025 as I didn’t want to be limited to basic construction work—I wanted the freedom to pursue more complex, detailed, and rewarding projects that push my abilities and deliver exceptional results for clients.
I have always had a passion for working with hardwoods, appreciating the character, durability, and craftsmanship they bring to a project. More recently, I’ve developed a strong interest in traditional Japanese hand tools and techniques, which have further strengthened my appreciation for precision and attention to detail. I’m approachable, easy to work with, and believe that clear communication is just as important as quality workmanship. At the end of the day, our goal isn’t simply to build a deck, pergola, retaining wall, or set of stairs—we aim to improve the entire outdoor living experience. We look at how each element works together to create a space that is functional, beautiful, and adds lasting value to our clients’ homes.
As a qualified and fully insured carpenter, I bring both professional training and accountability to every project I undertake. Becoming qualified required years of hands-on experience, technical training, and a commitment to learning industry best practices to ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard. Insurance is equally important, as it provides peace of mind for both myself and my clients, knowing that the project is protected throughout the construction process. Choosing a qualified and insured carpenter means you’re investing in quality workmanship, compliance with relevant standards, and the confidence that your project is being completed by a professional who takes pride in doing things the right way.
